OWP employs an organizational membership model, in which agencies, universities and organizations join the organization in order to provide access for all of their employees.  Governmental membership is open to all state, provincial, and commonwealth governmental agencies responsible for administration of fish and wildlife resources in the western hemisphere. Membership is also open to federal agencies whose responsibilities are involved with fish and wildlife resources. University membership is open to universities and colleges that offer training that supports professionals in the field of fish and wildlife management in the western hemisphere. Associate memberships are available to interested individuals, organizations, and institutions.

Categories of Membership

Governmental Membership. The OWP is made up primarily of member agencies. These include state, provincial, commonwealth, and federal agencies responsible for fish and wildlife resource management.  Member agencies have one vote per agency in OWP matters, and agency employees are eligible to be an officer. Annual dues are $250.

University Membership. Universities and colleges may hold a university membership in the OWP. Qualification is determined by the OWP Executive Committee based on criteria as outlined in the OWP Bylaws. These members have one vote per institution and members are eligible to be an officer. Annual dues are $250.

Association Membership.  An Association Membership is open to legally formed organizations who advocate comprehensive management of wildlife resources, subject to approval by the Executive Committee and upon payment of dues. Each Association Member is entitled to one (1) vote. The vote shall be cast by the official representative of the organization.   Members are eligible to be an officer. Annual dues are $50.

Individual Membership. The OWP membership includes individuals with interest in application of comprehensive management approaches to fish and wildlife resource management. These individuals are often associated with agencies, colleges, tribal governments, consulting firms, and conservation clubs which are not Governmental, University or Associate Organization Members of OWP. Individual members have one vote.  Annual dues are $25.
